Dr Ali Al-Sherbaz is currently the Research and Innovation Leader and Associate Professor at the University of Northampton - UK. He has twenty years theoretical and practical experience in researching and teaching at various universities both in the Middle East and in the UK, with good experience in both academic and industrial projects. Ali is the Chair of BCS British Computer Society, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), IEEE Communication Society, IEEE Standards Associations and Member in the Institution Engineering and Technology IET. Leading the research active staff within the University of Northampton and acting as a core member of the Faculty Executive Team, providing strong strategic leadership and quality management for research and enterprise (R&E) activities across the faculty. lead strategically important partnerships for the University of Northampton (UN). His academic career has focused on providing access to excellence through higher education and research in Engineering. A key part of his role is also establish partnerships in Middle East, Far East, India and China, which means to liaise with multi-stakeholders on a technical and a managerial level, curriculum development, Laboratory development and building long term Partnerships. Developing and delivering a strategic vision for the Universities technical/research and related commercial activities, involving: Ideas development; forward planning; analysis and evaluation; problem solving and resolution and the focusing of business/commercial objectives – championing commercial activities and using broad business development skills to drive forward investment. University of Northampton and Ali are both keen to work with the companies and organisations to rebuild Iraq.
